The Backflow Repairer course provides classroom instruction and hands-on training using a fully equipped backflow prevention assembly wet lab. The Basic Electrical Instrumentation Course is a 30-hour continuing education course designed to teach students the basic concepts of electricity and plant process instrumentation. The course covers theory, instrumentation, programmable logic controller basics, digital multimeter fundamentals, controls troubleshooting, and SCADA and radio telemetry fundamentals. The Facility Management course is taught by experienced water industry professionals and meets the core subject-area requirements of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Operator Knowledge Base Manual. The FW&PCOA’s voluntary Reclaimed Water System Operator certification program provides training in Rule 62-610, Florida Administrative Code, covering the reuse of reclaimed water and land-application practices. Certification is awarded progressively, beginning at Level 3 and advancing through Level 2 to the Level 1 designation.
